GUIDELINES FOR THE SUBMISSION OF PAPERS AND POSTERS
This guide is intended to help you choose the appropriate presentation format to contribute to the scientific programme of ApS(U)13. The different formats are designed to create a lively academic atmosphere, allowing for diverse presentation styles. Each of the formats described below has the same academic value, although they respond to different purposes.
Before submitting your proposal, we recommend that you carefully read these guidelines. In the description of each type of presentation, you will find specific information about the requirements, duration, and characteristics of each modality.
In accordance with ApS(U)13 policies, a maximum of two proposals may be submitted per person. In addition, the maximum number of authors is five, and all authors of the submissions must be registered for the conference.
Duplicate submissions will be automatically removed in order to reduce unnecessary work for our reviewers. Therefore, submitting the same study twice, even in different formats, will not increase the chances of acceptance.
Proposals may be submitted in Basque, Spanish, or English.
Proposals must be submitted exclusively through the official platform. Submissions sent by email will not be accepted.
Finally, please note that individual requests for changes to the programme schedule cannot be accommodated. If accepted, your presentation may be scheduled on any of the days of the conference.
Both papers and posters must be submitted under one of the general thematic tracks of the Congress, which are explained below:
1. Social Justice
Educating to transform: Service-Learning as a practice of social justice. Reflection on how Service-Learning contributes to the development of critical, supportive citizenship committed to the SDGs and human rights.
The SDGs as an ethical horizon: Service-Learning in the face of planetary challenges. How Service-Learning projects can critically and contextually address the Sustainable Development Goals.
2. Voices and Networks (not only academia)
Voices that build: diversity, inclusion, and dialogue in Service-Learning projects. Showcasing experiences that integrate different voices (students, communities, migrants, rural populations, etc.) in shared learning processes. Testimonies from social organisations, students, service users (experts by experience)…
Weaving networks: partnerships between universities, communities, and territories. Experiences and strategies of co-creation with social organisations, educational institutions, municipalities, and Service-Learning networks.
3. Service-Learning Pedagogy
Pedagogical strategies. Emotion, body, and connection: pedagogies of care in Service-Learning. Spaces to explore how Service-Learning can also be an emotional, affective, and relational pedagogy.
Let reality sink in: reading the world in order to act upon it. Pedagogical perspectives that connect the curriculum with the social, ecological, and economic challenges of our time. Online Service-Learning.
4. Institutionalisation and Research
Institutionalisation of Service-Learning in higher education. Advances, challenges, and theoretical frameworks to consolidate Service-Learning as a structural component of university curricula.
5. Impact and Multifocal Evaluation
Indicators and impact: measuring without reducing the value of Service-Learning. How to generate indicators that capture the academic, personal, and social impact of Service-Learning without losing the complexity of lived processes.
Evaluating what matters: meanings, methodologies, and challenges in Service-Learning evaluation. Critical analysis of how to assess meaningful learning, social engagement, and community impact.
Templates for Submission of Papers and Posters
To submit a paper or poster, the corresponding template must be used:

Oral Presentations of Papers
Paper sessions are scheduled for 90 minutes. The session chair will provide an overview (10–15 minutes) of the content of all the papers presented and will then pose inquiry and discussion questions to the group (75 minutes).Participants will have access to the session communications before it takes place, so that they can make contributions, ask questions, and ensure the session runs as smoothly and productively as possible.
Poster Presentations
Poster sessions are scheduled for 30 minutes during the morning break and lunchtime. The authors of the posters—or at least one of them—must be present during these times.

Once you have prepared your proposal in accordance with the information provided above, you may submit it via the website under the “Participate” section:
